Ausfine was established in 1988 and from it’s very first day the Ausfine team has cemented steadfast long-term relationships with many of the worlds leading dairy and meat companies, specialising in helping formulate market strategies and the marketing of new product lines. In addition, Ausfine have developed a unique relationship with many small to medium sized customers where the owner of the business is still responsible for purchasing decisions and put their trust into the Ausfine Team to provide real-time and valuable insights into the current market dynamics.

    Chris Scarlett

    EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN ( CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD )

    Chris Scarlett joined Ausfine in 1999 and is now the Executive Chairman and focusing on business innovation. With hands-on experience at major Australian dairy processors and a Diploma of Applied Science in Food/Dairy Technology. Chris has extensive experience and knowledge of global cheese markets, dairy trading, risk management including successful hedging strategies and futures trading.

    Matt Cooper

    Chief Executive Officer

    Matt has been with Ausfine for over 17 years and in that time has seen the company grow from a very small team of 5 to a rapidly scaling international company with offices in Indonesia and New Zealand and ambitions for further international expansion. Matt took on the role of CEO in late 2022 after a long time in Dairy sales and then heading up the Ausfine sales team. As CEO Matt is aiming to continue the great work implemented by Chris and continue to grow Ausfine on the back of incredibly strong relationships with customers and suppliers built on the foundation of Trust.

    Garry Embleton

    Chief Operations Officer

    Garry joined Ausfine in January 2010, having operated in the international dairy industry for over 20 years, Garry brings a great deal of experience in a variety of trading company environments. Skills in finance, risk assessment, claims administration, logistics and staff management made him the ideal choice to assume the position of COO.

    Steve Helliger

    Sales Director

    For over 25 years, Steve has gained extensive international trading experience in meat export sales. He specialises in all frozen/chilled meat and offal categories from Australia and international origins. After joining Ausfine back in the mid 2000's, Steve is proudly a company partner, leads meat division and to become Head of Sales with responsibilities to implement and drive sales disciplines and meeting rhythms across the sales team. Steve has long standing partnerships with suppliers & customers, steadily growing Ausfine Foods meat division, driven by his passion for trade, hard work and the Ausfine team. Being born and bred in Melbourne, Steve's outsides interests include love of sport, particularly AFL footy "The Mighty Hawks", swimming, golf, travel and spending time with his young family.

    Shaun Love

    chief financial officer

    Shaun joined Ausfine in April 2021 as our CFO. Shaun is a qualified Chartered Accountant who brings extensive international and diverse industry experience having held executive finance roles in Australia and the USA. Shaun’s experience spans aviation, along with manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain of explosives for mining activities and globally traded agricultural and industrial chemical commodities. Shaun’s strategic financial mindset and track record of delivering outstanding financial results made him the logical choice to guide the financial growth of Ausfine.

    Kylie Prout

    Head of Human Resources

    Kylie joined the Ausfine team in July 2023 as Head of Human Resources. Kylie has an educational background in Human Resources, Training and Assessment as well as Quality Auditing and Chemical Engineering. Kylie’s experience spans various sectors including manufacturing (cars, toys, chemotherapy) and service businesses (pharmacy, aged care) working for large multinationals, family owned and not-for-profit businesses. Providing people and HR insights, coaching, and jumping in to solve problems of any type, she adds a unique perspective to the executive team. Enthusiastic about learning she is frequently consuming content on continuous improvement, leadership and ways to work more efficiently and effectively. Outside of work Kylie enjoys spending time with her family, attending NBL Basketball games (an avid fan of SE Melbourne Phoenix) and laughing along at comedy shows or podcasts.

    Steve Anderson

    Business Development Manager

    Steve has 15+ Years of Sales experience spanning over Various markets (Food, Bev, Liquor, Health and Wellbeing). This has been across different environment all the way from Start Ups to Corporate giants like Coca Cola. Steve loves a win/win deal and has had many years of negotiation experience. A large part of Steve's decision to come on board was the alignment of the company values to his Natural instincts. Years of people management and Chairing a local sporting club Board, provides an approachable environment in transactions with Steve. Fitness and family are Steve's passion. Never one to miss a day of exercise and cherish time with his Wife (Madi) and kids (Ollie, Nick. Mille and Xavier)

    Tilda Wintle

    Dairy Sales Assistant

    Tilda has recently been promoted to Dairy Sales Assistant at the end of April 2024. Tilda joined Ausfine in the graduate program October 2022. She graduated from a Bachelor of Agriculture at Melbourne University this year, majoring in agricultural economics. She has a passion for agriculture stemmed from high school and previously worked in retail during her University studies. Outside of work her interests are gym, cooking, spending time with friends and family, travelling and her cocker spaniel!

    Helen Feng

    Trader Assistant / EA

    Helen joined Ausfine in 2011 as a meat trader with years’ experience in international trade and global logistics. Helen’s comprehensive knowledge and skillsets make her the perfect fit for her current role as Commercial & Executive Assistant to the Managing Director, which spans sales, business development, cost management, risk mitigation, strategic planning, logistic coordination as well as customer service to our key accounts.   Outside work, Helen enjoys travelling, baking, table tennis, and spending time with family and friends.

    Trevor LiDonni

    Director – Dairy Division

    Trev joined Ausfine in April 2016, having spent the previous 12 years working at Fonterra. Trev has significant experience across all facets of dairy and uses that knowledge to ensure customers and suppliers get the best outcome possible. Skills in trading, risk management, leadership and problem-solving help Trev in his role as Director - Dairy Division

    Michael Lance

    National Business Manager QSR Trading

    Michael has over 20 years of FMCG experience in Beverages and most recently in Dairy ( 6 years ). His experience extends to QSR, Commercial manufacturing, Bulk commodity trading, Food Service and Retail. He has a passion for Customer management and Customer Service which is aligned to our aim of being the most trusted Partner in Dairy. He is part of the Domestic Sales team and will continue to focus on our Domestic Sales growth agenda. Michael and his family are based in Brisbane. On the weekends he likes to play golf, run and watch the AFL .

    Josh Bydak

    Dairy Trader

    Born and raised in Canada, Josh adds to the already extensive international contingent here at Ausfine. With a previous trading background in other agricultural commodities such as grain, pulses and oilseeds; Josh looks to provide additional context to the supply/demand movements for clients in the dairy market. Josh’s passion for the role is fueled through a love of travel and building new relationships with a variety of people around the world. In his downtime, you will find him either hiking in the wilderness or relaxing on a patio in the middle of the city with a cold beverage. There is no in-between.

    Ben Williamson

    National Domestic Business Manager

    Ben joined Ausfine in 2019 as National Domestic Business Manager with already 12 years’ experience in the dairy industry. With a background in inventory management, production planning and general operations he has a broad understanding of the industry from the ground up. Ben prides himself on customer relationships. He enjoys collaborating and strategising with business’ on ways to best provide them with procurement security. In his spare time Ben loves spending time with his young family, singing and playing guitar.

    Kate Stewart

    Commercial Innovation Manager

    Kate is one of the newest additions to the Ausfine team, joining us in August 2022. Kate brings a great deal of experience having spent the majority of her career in sales FMCG, working across a multitude of categories and channels. Kate is extremely customer centric, focusing on delivering both innovative and sustainable customer solutions and is passionate about developing and driving strategic customer relationships. Outside work Kate enjoys hosting friends and family, so too enjoying the beach and a bit of paddleboarding.

    Matthew Smith

    Export Sales Manager

    Matthew joined Ausfine in May of 2024 in the Meat Export Division. Matthew joined as an Export Sales Manager with over 4 years’ experience working with international and domestic food manufacturers, suppliers and processors. Matthew brings a diverse skillset acquired through working not only in Sales but also Supply Chain Management, Quality Assurance and Warehousing which assist him in providing a unique approach to the Ausfine team. With a background in 3PL Management and a successful track record of developing profitable new businesses while fruitfully expanding established operations locally and internationally we look forward to seeing Matthews future ahead at Ausfine. On the weekend you’ll find Matthew heading out Camping, watching the Footy and F1 or planning his next snowboarding adventure.

    Tom Wigan

    Export Sales – Meat

    Tom’s background is in international business and trading gives him a multifaceted grasp on commodity trading markets particularly in the agriculture industry. Tom has a real passion for building strong bonds and cross-cultural relationships with his clients to ensure trades run smoothly and all parties receive regular communication. As a key export sales manager at Ausfine Foods, Tom embodies a work ethic which allows him to grasp opportunities quickly and execute within limited time frames, particularly in the meat trade. In his off time, Tom enjoys a hit of tennis or golf & will never shy away from a camping trip with mates. A die-hard Bombers fan, although certainly not much to barrack for in recent times!

    Rhett Simpson

    Export Sales – Meat

    Rhett has a passion for agriculture having studied a Bachelor of Business (Agricultural Commerce) in Orange NSW and worked in a variety of agricultural operations including cropping, diary, viticulture, and meat production. After starting in the meat industry in 2008, Rhett has gained experience in both domestic and export markets. His affinity for market analysis helps to provide strong market understanding, adding value to those around him. Rhett’s attitudes typify Ausfine’s core values, ensuring that supplier and customer relationships are sustainable and mutually beneficial. Rhett’s passion / obsession revolves around bicycles whether it be gravel riding, mountain biking or bike packing. His bucket list is to ride a multiday unsupported bike packing race somewhere in the world. He also takes time to enjoy the outdoors hiking and camping.

    Sarah Scarlett

    Marketing and PR Manager

    Sarah joined Ausfine in 2021 to work in Ausfines Marketing and PR department. She has a background in the fashion industry working as a buyer at Myer and The Just Group, handling marketing campaigns and implementing brand strategies as well as managing a large team. Sarah has also worked as a event coordinator and now organises all of the Ausfine events and learning lunches. Outside of work Sarah enjoys playing tennis, running and shopping! She enjoys eating out with friends and family and organising the next holiday to take the family on! But most of all she enjoys eating cheese and loves working in a dairy and meat company and the perks that go with it!

    Emily Walker

    Import manager  

    Emily joined Ausfine in 2012, bringing with her knowledge in international trade from a customs, quarantine and import procedure prospective. She has 15+ years’ experience specializing in importing goods into Australia. She was appointed Import Manager in 2020 and works as a Key account Liaison and account manager for some of our biggest suppliers and customers. Outside of work she loves to read, travel and enjoys spending time with her family.

    Kate Wardle

    Logistics and compliance manager

    Kate’s international focus started at Monash University with studying languages. Her passion has always been related to international projects, movement and trade. And the gathering of knowledge. As Logistics & Compliance Manager at Ausfine Foods Kate is a constant support to the Operations and Commercial teams and embodies the ‘We Learn’ philosophy with setting up the Ausfine Academy resource for ongoing training and development of staff. Relentlessly helpful compliance and troubleshooting lead with over 20 years of industry experience Kate is the go to person for issues whether she likes it or not. Serious and committed chocolate fan.

    Melissa Malatesta

    Process Improvement & Export Manager

    Melissa Malatesta is a Senior Logistics professional with strong emphasis on process improvement carrying 15+ years of service in FMCG both Nationally & Internationally.  As the Process improvement & Export Manager she oversees Ausfine Foods international’s Meat & dairy export division. During her time at Ausfine she has led many projects implementing change and process improvement which has streamlined procedures and gain efficiency and seen the operations process to a single online platform. This proved beneficial during the pandemic when we were able to transition into a WFH environment without any disruption to our services. Having worked on many system integrations both with Ausfine and previous employers, Melissa has developed a new interest in computer languages, which she hopes to further to explore in the future.

    Melissa attended Melbourne’s RMIT University where she studied Business / International Trade. She is fluent in both English and Italian and holds a Dual citizenship which has allowed her to work and live both in Australia & Europe.  During her time abroad she developed a love of travel and getting lost in the culture and history of each country she visited. In her spare time, she is a busy mum of 2, who loves spending time and cooking for her family and friends.

     

    Yana Kunieieva

    Import Coordinator & Freight Manager

    Yana joined Ausfine in 2020 as an Import Coordinator running the import program for many of our key customers.  In 2021 Yana was internally promoted to the new position of Freight Manager, in which she acts as the key contact between Ausfine and our logistics partners, negotiating sea, air, road and rail freight rates.    Outside of work she loves yoga, shopping, Netflix binging, spending time with her family.

    Janine Bieg

    Export Documentation Manager

    Janine has worked at Ausfine Foods for nearly 33 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in exporting rules, regulations and documentation requirements. She enjoys the necessity for attention to detail and forward planning that is involved in the position. Outside of office hours, she loves catching up with friends, walking in nature, photography, sewing, and reading is a must every day.

    Hasan Kotadia

    Supply Planner & Customer Service Manager (NZ)

    Hasan’s background in Food Science and starting his career with foods processing & exporting industry paved his way into international trade which took him to work for companies across 3 different continents and finally making  Australia his home 12 years ago. As a Supply Chain Specialist, Hasan brings immense passion towards Ausfine core values, managing End-to-End value stream management, demand planning, Imports/exports and complete distribution chain, keeping our whole NZ business running, adding values and creating Win-Win partnership for our supplier, customers and 3pl service provides.   Out of office, Hasan enjoys playing cricket, camping & tracking. Cooking is his stress release activity constantly being inspired by multi-cultural Melbourne community. 

    Ruba Chowdhury

    Export CoOrdinator

    Ruba’s background is in Finance & logistics which gives her the options to move around and work for various department within the company. She love talking! This unique personality of hers helps her to do the role smoothly as a logistics Co-Ordinator, when it comes negotiation with shipping lines and other third parties or even follow up, she is able to use her skills well. Of course, she’s Awesome. Logistician Retail therapy relaxes her mind and cooking for her family is her passion, aspiring to participate in MasterChef soon. She loves to do gardening with her little boy and learning footy from him on weekends.

    Peter Chamings

    Export Coordinator

    Peter joined Ausfine October 2020, having worked in the International Trade environment for the past 25 plus year. Has extensive experience in Processing Export Documentation in Food Processing, Dairy, Agriculture and Manufacturing Industries. Close working relationship with Customs Brokers, transport, and shipping companies on international trade compliance .  

    Zoe Campbell

    Export Coordinator

    Zoe joined Ausfine in August 2021 as the newest member of our dairy export operations team. Zoe brings 15 years’ experience in shipping operations in the commodities industry both in Melbourne and overseas, as well as recent logistics roles in the food processing business.    She graduated from Monash University with a bachelor’s degree in International Trade and Management. She’s proud of her work supporting effective supply chains across oceans and cultures. Zoe is looking forward to contributing her experience for anticipating operational issues and problem-solving skills for Ausfine Foods’ customers. Outside of work, you’ll find Zoe spending time with her family and friends and chasing her two boys around at the beach.

    Carol Lee

    Export Coordinator

    Carol Lee joined Ausfine foods as export coordinator in Feb 2023 having worked for some of the major players in the red meat processing industry. She brings with her 8 years of experience. She has a passion for logistics ,customer service, and a can-do attitude and focus on delivering positive outcomes. Outside of work she loves to spend time with her two fur babies and hang around with family, loves Horse riding and catching up her friends.

    Ellen Futigami

    Import Coordinator

    Ellen joined Ausfine in April 2023. With a blend of Japanese and Brazilian cultural influences, she offers a unique perspective in the business world. Growing up in a family business provided her with firsthand knowledge of customer interactions and operational intricacies. Over five years of experience in import and export operations, she has developed expertise in managing international transactions and fostering strong client and partner relationships. Her academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in business administration, equipping her with a solid understanding of fundamental business principles. Outside of work, she enjoys an active lifestyle, often at the gym, surfing, reading, or savouring quiet moments in cafes.

    Bryn Dodson

    Financial Controller

    Bryn joined Ausfine in February of 2024 to lead the Accounting and Finance Team. Bryn joined as a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 6 years’ experience working with both international and domestic air and sea freight companies. Bryn brings a diverse skillset acquired through working with fast growing companies aided with a strong background in Big 4 audit that assists him in providing a strong technical approach to Ausfine’s reporting and finance functions. His background implementing controls, processes and new ERP tools have aided Ausfine in enhancing their finance procedures both locally and internationally. On the weekend you’ll find Bryn staying fit, traveling, and celebrating another glorious win by his favourite football team.

    Antony Fernando

    Accounts Payable

    Technical Marketing professional with a B.Sc. in Chemistry and a CIM certification from the UK, boasting 15 years of Accounts Payable (AP) expertise. Experienced in process monitoring, process improvement, staff training (both locally and internationally), system migration, and automation. Possesses comprehensive end-to-end AP experience across over 10 ERP systems, with in-depth knowledge of SAP and D365 P2P. Enjoys traveling, socializing, walking, and spending quality time with family and friends.

    Isabelle Peoples

    TREASURY ACCOUNTANT

    Isabelle joined Ausfine Foods in May 2018 and has over 10 years experience working in finance roles in commodity trading companies and is the Treasury Accountant for the organisation. Isabelle has diverse skills in foreign exchange management, funding, credit insurance, AP/AR and financial systems development. She is a Certified Practicing Accountant and has a Masters in International Finance.

    Carey Raine

    Accounts Receivable

    Carey joined Ausfine in 2022. She has over 15 years of accounts receivable and credit management experience across several industries. Carey’s background in commerce and IT have already driven process improvements and automations at Ausfine Foods which have led to an increase in departmental performance and efficiency. After work she enjoys travelling and enjoys spending time with her family and dog.

    Rowan Martin

    Technology & Business Analyst

    Rowan joined the Ausfine team in 2021. His passion is improving processes, and streamlining reporting. Rowan’s “can-do” attitude is driving change in intelligent reporting techniques and providing Ausfine with the ability to fully utilise the latest technology to fully benefit our customers. In his spare time, you will find Rowan exploring Melbourne’s vast cycling path network.

    Sie Mee Ling

    DIRECTOR

    Sie Mee Ling joined Ausfine in Oct 2014 as our first Indonesian employee and Country Manager. Bringing a strong supply chain and distribution back ground, Mei has been an outstanding contributor from day 1. Highlighted by her calm but tenacious character, Ausfine are very lucky to have Mei as the leader of our Indonesian business. Mei has a passion in Food Industry, she is hard working, solutions oriented, ambitious, persistent and exemplifies Ausfine’s values. Mei is a family person who loves Culinary Travelling, Listening to Music and Gardening.

    Adriana Valentina

    Operations manager

    We’re delighted to welcome Adriana as our Operational Manager in Nov 2022. She has strong Analytical skills, good leadership, and conceptual thinking. Her experience in System Migration, Business Analyst, and People Management fits in well with the company’s strategic plan. Warm heart, Easy Going, Open minded, and Calm are some of her charming personality. Her way to enjoy life is purely based on simplicity, she likes everything simple.

    Setiowati Wulan Aprilliantini

    Import Division

    Wulan joined Ausfine in Dec 2014, our first team member during start-up. Wulan works hard to build relationships and trust with the customers. Her experience in import documentation has helped to overcome many obstacles in importation and clearance purposes and to make sure we comply to all regulation for importing products to Indonesia. Wulan is often consulted by our customers on import regulatory matters. After work, Wulan is a happy mom with twin girls aged 6 and a cute baby girl aged 1.5. She enjoys spending her time with family.

    Mariana Prijono

    Technical Manager

    Marian is an Energic person with a humble personality who enjoys working with people to develop and explore ingredients characteristics. She has 14 years of experience in working with product development and food safety management. Processing, Mixing, Tasting, and Profiling each ingredient has become her daily passion. Writing a success story in a project is the most exciting time for Mariana. She finds cooking as a sweet escape to relax and recharge her energy.

    Kristine Oktayufanni

    Business Development

    Kristine started to bring her charm and bright smile to our office in May 2020. She has a good background in importation and marketing which helps her to expand the business and develop more opportunities. Having experience working with local and Japanese Trading companies elevates her capability in identifying customers’ inquiries and finding sourcing solutions. Kristine is a new mom, her happiness is very simple now, just to spend time with her family.

    Sales Support

    Neni joined us in June 2017, a very likable and cheerful person who enjoys working with different type of people and creating solutions. Just the right profile to handle our distribution and administration. Her detailed personality helps to set priorities and achieve company’s mission and vision. She loves to fill her life with music and K-Drama.

    Ansenora Bekris

    Regulatory

    After graduating as a Veterinarian in 2017, Nora took the opportunity to join a feed and drug company. With over 5 years of experience, she took the challenge to enter the food industry where she found more excitement and learning. Working with the government is not an easy task, there are multiple Ministries to align, and speed is very crucial to make sure the permit and documentation are covered. We put a high priority on all government requirements, her main role is to make sure we proudly called ourselves as a Trusted Trader and Partner for both Customers and Principals. On her weekend, Nora enjoys playing badminton, volleyball and reading books.

    Imakulata Ndao

    Finance Staff

    Ima joined Ausfine in mid 2021. Her calm character fits well with the role that needs focus and accuracy. Her past experience working for tax and public accountant opened the opportunity to show her talent and capability as our main guard to assuring all transactions are posted accurately to help the company move towards the right strategy and direction. Ima also finds gardening, cooking, listening to music, and re-decorating help to release stress and gain back energy.

    Indah Sari

    Logistics

    Indah recently joined the company, a humble, honest, patient, creative, and easy going person to work with. Majoring in Transportation and Distribution brings her ideas into reality. Exploring and digging more into the root cause of issues and finding on-going solutions has brought her excitement to the next level. With the complexity of all related partners, Indah has to present a win-win solution to our customers and partners. Indah loves hanging out with friends on weekend and just found new excitement in learning music.

    Matthew Muller

    Graduate

    Graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Batchelor degree in Agricultural Economics, Matthew combines academic expertise with hands-on experience in the livestock industry and is driven by a passion to create a more sustainable future for agriculture. Matthew comes from Northeast Victoria, where he grew up on the family farm and developed a passion for all things farm related. When not playing footy for Old Scotch Football Club, Matthew enjoys being outdoors, camping and socializing with friends.

    Lachlan Redgewell

    GRADUATE

    Lachlan joined Ausfine in the graduate program September 2023. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Financial Planning. He has had a life-long passion for agriculture and anything farming. Previously working in retail and fast-food throughout his studies, Lachlan enjoys all things outdoors including 4WD’ing, Fishing and Camping.
